#caseyandcranbournevethospital We have two new gorgeous additions at CCVH. First up we have Eevee the sweet little border collie cross owned by nurse Maddi who loves chewing on Charlie’s ears and stealing his deer antler. We also have Willow, the beautiful Great Dane pup owned by nurse Ash who loves nothing better than falling asleep in the office after playing with Charlie-as long as she can steal his bed! Looking forward to seeing them growing up (and having lots of cuddles of course)!

#caseyandcranbournevethospital There is nothing cuter than a couple of Golden Retriever pups. First up we have Waylon, a 12 wo boy who decided that the nail clippers were a chew toy. He also had a meet and greet with Charlie, Dr Leanne’s Golden Retriever. Then we have Shiloh a gorgeous 12 wo girl who was so relaxed, she fell asleep on the table. Both of them are just adorable.

#caseyandcranbournevethospital We have had the pleasure of meeting some cool cats the past couple of weeks. From oldest to youngest we firstly have 12 yo Shiraz, who was very chilled at the clinic, almost falling asleep on the table. Next we have 10.5 yo Rosie, who has not needed a vet visit for years and is normally really timid but was relaxed with the use of feliway in consult. Next is adorable 5mo Buffy who was really curious and explored the consult room. Last but not least we have 15wo Pistachio who came into the clinic perched on his owner’s shoulder and was so chillaxed for such a young kitten. Can’t wait to see how he grows up!

#caseyandcranbournevethospital It was cuteness overload at the clinic yesterday when 12 wo Golden Retriever pup Walter met Charlie. Walter had just finished his puppy preschool class at the clinic and had come inside for his health check and vaccination. He was very excited to meet Charlie and chew on his floppy ears before they both sat beautifully for their photos! Walter is so adorable and looks like a Charlie mini-me. Can’t wait to watch him grow up!

#caseyandcranbournevethospital It was play time at the clinic tonight when gorgeous 15 wo black lab pup Maverick met Charlie, (Dr Leanne’s 1yo Golden Retriever x). Charlie loves coming to the clinic every day, where he gets endless pats and cuddles from all the staff and clients alike. But without doubt, one of his favourite times of the day is when he gets to come out to reception to meet and socialise with some clients dogs, just like puppy Maverick! If given the chance, he would have taken Maverick home as a new play mate (and Dr Leanne wouldn’t have stopped him!)

#caseyandcranbournevethospital As the weather is starting to cool down, now is the time when dogs and cats are struggling more with the pain arthritis. Solensia for cats has been around for a number of months but we are really excited to finally have in Australia the dog version called Beransa. These products are species specific monoclonal antibodies that target the nerve growth factor which is responsible for the pain of arthritis. They are monthly injections and take the place of oral pain relief (which are contraindicated in older pets who also have kidney or liver issues). The following videos are of a beautiful 16 yo Labrador called Molly. She has also been diagnosed with kidney disease but until Beransa arrived, she needed to be on oral pain relief just to allow her to move. The first video is prior to having Beransa injection and the second video is 24 hours after her Beransa injection (and having stopped oral pain relief). Since this time, Molly has now had her second injection and has shown even more improvement. She is a lot happier in herself also. If your cats or dogs are showing signs of arthritis, please contact the clinic today to discuss these exciting products further.

Don’t forget to order your pets medication to collect before 7pm on Thursday 6th April. #caseyandcranbournevethospital Meet Skyla, the sweetest little Labrador pup. She was recently diagnosed with megaoesophagus. Since she has been eating from a raised bowl, she is regurgitating a lot less, has more energy and is starting to put on weight. As she grows, she will be trained to sit in a Bailey chair to eat which will allow her food to move down into her stomach more readily.

#caseyandcranbournevethospital It’s been double trouble at the clinic recently with some adorable sibling pups in for their health check. First up we have 17 week old Cavoodle pups-Gus (longer hair) and Jack (short hair) who are inseparable. We also have 17 week old long haired Chihuahua pups- Koda and his tiny brother Henry (at the back). Henry’s owner was given the great news on this visit that he had full vision in his left eye after he was accidently stood on by a Labrador which resulted in his left eye prolapsing (popping out). It was replaced and his eyelids stitched shut to protect the eye and once the stitches were removed, we found he had full vision. Now he isn’t having to wear his cone to protect his eye, he can go back to play fighting with his big brother, Koda.
