Caring for Cats and Supporting Families

Dr Tamara is part of the veterinary team at Casey and Cranbourne Veterinary Hospital. Her role includes consulting, performing surgery and helping families understand the best way to support their pets.

She has a strong interest in feline medicine and is known for the steady, patient way she works with nervous cats. She values the relationships she builds with clients and enjoys seeing their pets grow and change over the years.

A Career Shaped by Curiosity and Care

Dr Tamara’s interest in animals started early and grew alongside her interest in medicine. She studied science and pharmacy before completing her veterinary degree, which gave her a broad understanding of health and a practical approach to problem solving. Over time she found herself drawn to feline medicine. She enjoys interpreting the small changes in behaviour and health that cats often show and is committed to providing them with calm, expert care.

Dr Tamara is currently undertaking memberships in Feline Medicine, bringing advanced training to the clinic. Her pharmacology background, combined with her feline medicine studies, allows management of complex feline cases that might typically require referral. Dr Tamara plays a key role in maintaining our ISFM Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation.

“The best part of my job is building lasting relationships with pets and the people who love them.”

Moments That Matter

Some of Dr Tamara’s most meaningful moments come from small interactions. A client who feels heard during a difficult visit. A cat that begins to relax because she has approached it with patience. These experiences remind her why she chose this work. She also appreciates the teamwork within the clinic. When the day gets busy, everyone steps in and focuses on the patient in front of them. It is one of the reasons she enjoys being part of the Casey and Cranbourne team.

Life Outside the Clinic

When she is away from the clinic, Dr Tamara likes to spend time outdoors. Gardening gives her a quiet break from a busy week, and long walks or local hikes help her reset. She enjoys painting and often has a few creative projects on the go. Winter is her favourite season because it gives her the chance to ski and spend more time in the mountains. At home, she looks after several rescue cats who make life lively and full of personality.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring any previous vet records, current medications and notes about your pet’s diet, behaviour or recent changes.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

Yes. We reserve a number of same day consultations for urgent concerns. Please call early so we can help you as soon as possible.

Can I get repeat medications?

Yes. Repeat prescriptions can be requested by phoning the clinic. Some medications may require a check-up first to ensure they are still appropriate and safe for your pet.

Do you have in-house blood testing and imaging?

Yes. We offer full blood testing onsite, along with X ray and ultrasound, plus access to mobile CT for more complex cases.

What if my pet has an emergency?

Call us straight away as you are making your way to the clinic, giving a brief description of the emergency so we can be prepared for your pet’s arrival. Depending on the emergency, in certain circumstances, we may direct you to the nearest 24 hour emergency centre.

How Long Are Your Consultations?

Our consults are longer than standard appointments. This gives us time to examine your pet carefully, talk through our findings and answer any questions without rushing.
