Veterinary Nurse
Jessica is one of the veterinary nurses at Casey and Cranbourne Veterinary Hospital. Her workday is spent caring for patients, keeping a close eye on how they are feeling and talking with clients about their pets’ needs.
She enjoys helping people understand what is happening with their animals and how best to support them. No two days feel the same, and she likes the mix of quiet moments, busy stretches and everything in between.
Jessica grew up surrounded by pets of all kinds, which sparked her interest in animal care from a young age. She has been in the veterinary industry for more than ten years and has developed a particular soft spot for brachycephalic, or squishy-faced breeds. Her experience with these breeds gives her a calm and confident approach when caring for them, especially in hospital or emergency situations.
“Watching a sick patient start eating again is one of the best feelings.”
Some of Jessica’s favourite moments come from small things. A patient leaning in for a cuddle. A dog who was flat the day before suddenly showing interest in food again. A relaxed chat with a client who had walked in anxious. She enjoys being part of a large, skilled team and values the compassion shown across every role in the hospital.
Jessica has worked at Casey and Cranbourne Veterinary Hospital for her entire nursing career. She likes the pace of the clinic and the variety that comes with it. The team work closely together, especially during busy or challenging cases, and there is a shared sense of doing what is best for each patient. Her teammates would describe her as calm and positive, and she brings that steady energy with her into each shift.
When she is not at work, Jessica spends time with her partner, her two kids, her dog, family and friends. Home life is full and lively. She shares it with Archie the Pug, a breed she has always loved.
