Cert IV Veterinary Nurse
Senior Receptionist
Miriam is one of the friendly voices you hear when you call Casey and Cranbourne Veterinary Hospital. She works across reception, administration and purchasing, helping clients with their requests and keeping the hospital stocked and organised. Her background in veterinary nursing gives her a solid understanding of clinical needs, which helps her explain things clearly and support both the team and the families who rely on us.
She enjoys the variety in her role. Every day brings a different set of questions, tasks and conversations, and she takes real satisfaction in helping people feel more comfortable about their pet’s care.
Miriam’s interest in veterinary work began with a long standing love of animals. After completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2009, she gained experience in clinical care, behaviour and client education. She has taught puppy classes, developed a strong interest in rabbit care and built the organisational skills that now play a key part in the smooth running of the hospital.
“Every day brings a moment where you know you’ve helped someone. That’s what keeps me inspired.”
Some of Miriam’s most meaningful moments happen during the simplest interactions. She might reassure a worried owner, talk someone through a new diagnosis or share in the excitement of a first puppy visit. Being able to help in those moments is something she values.
She also appreciates the teamwork within the clinic. When the day becomes busy, the staff work together, stay focused and support one another. It is one of the things she admires most about Casey and Cranbourne and a big part of why she enjoys being here.
When she is not at work, Miriam spends most of her time with her family. She likes getting outdoors for a walk and enjoys the chance to slow down after a busy day. She has a soft spot for rabbits and has looked after them for many years.
She keeps life grounded with a simple motto that has stayed with her: “Don’t sweat the small stuff.”
